I live in the area, and sorry to say, but currently the economy is as bad or worse than the rest of the country. There are no new industries in the area. The few that do come usually bring their managers and supervisory personnel from other areas. The only ones that are hired are the hourly “peon” employees. Since Alabama is a right to work state, wages are low.
