where can i apply online for college grants where they dont charge?

i tried to apply online for a college grant and after i filled the entire application i learned it was the wrong application and they wanted 80 bucks to submit it!any help would be appreciated!

It’s like H&R Block for tax filers – some people think they’re going to need help completing the application, so they’re willing to pay for it. Though the form can be a little complex and time consuming, I don’t personally believe that anyone should really need to pay for help in completing it.

The site that you want is the government’s official FAFSA site – you can find that at http://fafsa.ed.gov – that’s where you’ll find the application itself, and lots and lots and lots of free information to help you figure it all out. If you still have questions, you can call the Department’s help desk – also for free – and the friendly people there will be answer to help you get the answers you need.
