Year-end employee reviews can be helpful
At a recent holiday party, an enraged manager told me about an end-of-year performance review with an employee. The staffer complained about his delayed promotion and ticked off a list of gripes about the way his department was run. “He had some valid complaints,” the manager told me. “But he didn’t have a single solution. He didn’t position himself as someone I’d want to promote.”
