If I live in Northern Ireland, can my American wife obtain work auth from Irish government?

My American wife and baby boy are on a holiday visa as I didn’t know(stupid!!!) to get them a spousal visa before they got here. I know they have to go home and get spouse visa if I go through the British government, but I am wondering if I can have her register with the Irish govenment seeing that I consider myself to be Irish. If so will be able to reside within the 6 counties of Northern Ireland and also claim family allownace ect. Your answers are welcomed on a most welcomed level,

Well visit the British and Irish Immigration websites. You can change your wife’s visa Status, your child is able to stay but will not be able to work for some time.
